The last KT song before his upcoming album in April, “White Flag” caught my attention because of the way it lays everything out there so matter-of-factly. It’s as if, well, Travis is tired of fighting and wants to give in, either to love or to resign to the fact he’s fought a losing (romantic) battle. There’s a duality to the lyrics in some ways. Kid Travis has been a constant, in that he’s always releasing music. There was a period where I’d get a new song from him every week. That’s how dedicated the alt-pop artist is to his craft. If you’re intrigued by “White Flag,” I suggest giving both his current discography (and the new album) a shot and support dope music in all its forms.
