A smooth alt-pop-meets-neo-soul sort of offering, “Daytime Moon” really caught my attention with its pitch. It just so happens I’ve been in the shoes of the narrator. See, “Daytime Moon” is less of a love song and more of an “I need to love myself a bit too and not just be selfless with my love sometimes” sort of song. It executes everything so well, down to the dreamy vocals. When we perfect the balance between selfless and “selfish,” the sky’s the limit.
I’ve had to learn that myself over the years. Hell, I’m still learning it. Sometimes, I even learn it through “the hard way” of getting burnt out giving love to everyone else (and becoming easily irritated by things that even slightly sound like that love’s not reciprocated). The Louisiana singer/songwriter’s song will appear on her Kid Charleroi album, due out April 2023. For now, check this one out and do the thing: support dope music in all its forms.
