There’s an interesting footnote about “Pink Skully.” The verse Cam’ron spits here, it was first used here but ended up being put on one of those “duet with your favorite legend” kits. That’s because Rocka sat on the track for a bit (he discusses this on his IG, saying the moral of the story is to not hold onto good music longer than you need to). However, I feel it’ll be more at home on this song. That’s because this one is like that Dipset music I loved through high school and college. The bars are solid, beat is menacing but still a bit soulful, and the flows are great as well. I’m glad to see Cam still able to deliver a dope-a** verse almost 30 years in the game. Then Rocka’s got a pretty great verse as well, as this one also reminds me of that early-to-mid-2000s NYC hip-hop (where you got some of the most-fire verses and beats). Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
