7ever7ide7moke Presents His “1988 Freestyle”

I think the best way to describe this one without giving its story away is that it’s like a Dreams and Nightmares-era Meek Mill track. Down to the beat, the Edmonton, Alberta rapper (his name is pronounced “Seven Side Smoke, if you’re wondering) gives us an homage to Meek sonically. This is all while introducing himself to those who haven’t heard of him in a lyrical barrage. Lyrically, this one reminded me a bit of a mix between early-2000s NYC hip-hop and that early-to-mid 2000s Philly rap. It’s gritty, it’s raw, it’s emotional. On top of that, it’s real. Hell, it got me invested in what 7even drops next. It’s, to me, that good of a track sound-wise. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
