Sonically, this one sounds like Lil Baby meets J. Cole. It’s lyrical as hell (and yes, I count Lil Baby as being lyrical; his bars are damned solid), while having some chill elements and hustler’s ambition as well. “Self Made” is a song for those who grind on their own without much help from others. It’s a pat on the back to all the entrepreneurs out there (including us journalists/bloggers/curators). And honestly? I’m here for that, especially since I am pretty damned self made myself. I also love the production, as it’s smooth, bouncy and still a bit hard-hitting. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
