I like this one because it’s like a mix between Chance the Rapper and John Legend. In other words, vocally sound with some bars in there as well. “Grow In Love” is the first time I’ve come in contact with Brandon Vee, but I’m sure it won’t be the last. The song itself is about putting the foolishness to the side and growing with your partner because that’s easier than growing apart most of the time. I love the production (reminds me a bit of early Kanye–minus the chipmunk samples) and I really like the message. It’s a message we can all relate to, as we’re all people who’ve been in love at one point or another. I think the message can also be applied a bit to non-romantic relationships. Your boys aren’t your boys if they’re not trying to grow and mature with you. Check out the track below and support dope music in all its forms.
