LYD Presents “Parasol Pine”

LYD, in her introduction to “Parasol Pine,” mentioned something that’s pretty profound. The vocalist said that sometimes, people “just forget to fill our cup with those simple pleases of life that feel grounding, that bring us joy and peace and reconnect us to ourselves.” I know I’m guilty of that (trying to be better about it as I, like you, were chosen by God to do great things). I was especially guilty of it coming up as SOTB. I’d get so encouraged by a song getting traction, that I’d keep going without stopping to say “hey, this song is solid; let me just let this one simmer” or just stopping and smelling the roses. Yes, it’s cliched, but it’s the truth.

Artists (and people in general), we tend to look for what’s new and what’s now instead of embracing all of the times and living within them. Sometimes, the only times we get reflective is when we’re forced to be introspective and reflective. On top of the message, I’m also a sucker for a good flautist; just something about the flute that feels like home and nostalgia. I really like this one because, on top of being a piece about stopping to enjoy your wins, it’s also very airy, like a summer breeze. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
