Being on your own can suck but it’s a necessary thing. That’s not to say any one human is an island or any other cliches. However, you’re born into this world alone, spend a good chunk of your life doing things on your own, and eventually die on your own. It’s not sad, just a fact. But even in that lone wolf area of things, we still need likeminded people around us to both reign each other in and help each other grow. In other words, even while walking alone, you need people to keep you levelheaded to truly flourish.
That’s the main vibe I get from AJE SMD and Lynx the Indigo Child’s “Walk Alone.” The two artists use each other to keep on keeping on in a world where some’d rather they not continue. They also use, as is expected from a SOTB-featured artist, music to get where they need to be mentally and otherwise. I love the production as, while it’s a bit straightforward, it thumps and the main melody is engaging enough that I forgot about it being mainly a loop. That’s because things flowed well throughout the song, from the beat to the bars, and not a second was wasted on unnecessary energy or lyrics. Each moment is impactful and equally important. The hook of the track keeps that same energy as it’s to-the-point but poignant at the same time.
If you’re someone who marches to the beat of their own drum (again, sorry for cliches), check this one out below and support dope music in all its forms.
