You think of the DMV music scene, you think D.C., you think P.G., you think MoCo, you think Baltimore, and so on. I’ll be honest. I never really thought of Anne Arundel County as having spitters. That’s not a slight to any of the scenes there, as I’m sure they exist in bunches. It’s just that I never really saw that out of the region.
After hearing the bars and seeing the crisp visuals on Coexist Music Group’s “Don’t Get Close,” I’ll gladly admit that I was mistaken.
“Wowzers” is all I can say about the “modern retro” group of artists. My head kept nodding and I had the screwface on like I stepped back into the late-90s era of hip-hop. It was a beautiful thing, for sure. This track makes me want to check out more AA County artists and see what’s really good with the region. I mean, every city/county/state has their hidden gems.
