Brain Rapp’s captioned the release of his video “Light” with the phrase “the biggest middle finger is a smile.” That definitely plays into the energy exuded from the track and its parent project, Bloom, due out next week.

While talking to Brain about the release, I made mention that the entire thing has a lot of futuristic sounds that still feel deeply entrenched in Southern hip-hop. That’s especially with the slower production on the project. We’ll talk a bit more about Bloom and its flower power when it drops. But, trust me when I say that it’s worth the wait.

“Light” is the perfect introduction into the world Brain’s setting up. He has a bit of a Big Boi sort of thing going on here, where he’s prophetic and wise, but still approachable and friendly. Check out the track and the visuals below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
