Baltimore-born artist JPEGMAFIA is someone who’s been on my radar for a while. However, I’ve never posted about his music on the site. In this new era of SpeedontheBeat.com, that’s changing. And fast. Why? Peggy just released “Jesus Forgive Me, I’m A Thot.”
My uber-religious readers may want to turn away.
Oh, who am I kidding? I’ve interviewed porn stars and used to post gifs of A.J. Lee’s bootycheeks.

Ain’t no uber-religious folks here anymore. Hell, there probably never were any besides that one Christian rapper who blocked me because I swore a lot. Peace and blessings to him, though.
Before I digress any further, the barrage of sounds hit me like a brick to the face. As I bled and checked to see how many teeth I lost, I smiled in amazement. One minute, he’s singing. Then, he turns around and starts rapping over a bass-heavy, lo-fi-esque beat. After that, he’s dropping bars and saying “don’t kill me, nigga, I’m verified” over what feels like a sample. He’s giving us everything he’s got here (as always) and hoping for excellence. This is all while also acknowledging that there’s a lot of fuckery in this world, some of which will confuse and lead people astray.
We’re taken to his version of church and all I can say is “Amen.” Check out “JFMIAAT” below on streaming platforms and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
