Above, we have Charlie from the Couny’s latest track, “Rick and Morty Grinder.” The first thing that got me was the Rick and Morty homage Charlie features on the cover art. Charlie’s always been an artist I’ve looked forward to because of his blend of nerdy energies and smooth lyricism. And like its namesake, the song gets schwifty AF.

Serving as a reintroduction for those familiar with him, “Grinder” features Charlie riding the beat like a wave. Lyrically, Charlie excels with punchlines as well as bars that’ll get a listener into the mind of the Couny Boy. It’s one of those early fall tracks that, if/when enough people hear it, could hang in your playlists for months on end. Like a Logic track from, say, The Incredible True Story, I could see this appearing in some sort of R&M promotional scenario. For Charlie, considering the conversations we’ve had over the years about his music, this is as high of a praise as I can give without sounding like his PR guy.
