John Wells has been on a tear since Luckee Jordan dropped. Between getting shouted out by folks such as Jonny Shipes to amassing a few hundred thousand views on his videos, his grind is second only to his lyricism. Yesterday, he released a welcome gift/reminder of why he’s one of the best out in “CALIFORNIA.”

The Kenneth English-produced track features Wells spitting some heartfelt lines, something like “XXL” and what we got to hear from Jordan. What makes Wells stand out to me is this: he’ll lay his soul out there for the world to see. That’s important because you need honesty. However, Wells–on top of his honesty–still has the confidence in his bars and his subjects that he’ll also draw you in if you’re just looking for someone spitting their ass off. He’s bar-heavy enough for the “purists” but real enough for everyone else not just looking for the #bars. All in all, this is another stellar addition to the Baltimore-area native’s growing discography. He’s one to watch out for, so check out “CALIFORNIA” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
