I’m getting back into my emails after a little while away (read: my actual job’s been kicking my ass and I like my actual job, so I’ve been putting in even more of an extra effort). This one caught my eyes and my ears. Produced by British house duo Dirty Chips, the house-hop track “Make It” features the homie Lex Rush and singer Dale Novella just wanting to get ahead in a world that feels dark and gritty. In such a world, having inspiration–or finding it anywhere you can–is key. That’s what I take away from this one. It’s a feelgood track which features Lex’s signature punchlines and verbal veracity. The project is slated to be on Lex and Dale’s Escape the Matrix EP, which drops in April 2021.
