Yesterday, Bito Sureiya dropped his latest track, “Life Just a XBOX 360,” from the upcoming Melanin Quest 7: Derivatives of Nomenclature project. In a word, it’s dope.
In a few more words, the GodSenseBeats-produced track puts listeners into a video game-esque world where Bito and guest star Lovell rap their collective asses off about the world they live in. Between nerdy-ish references to video game culture and gritty, hard-hitting lyricism, the duo paints a vivid portrait of who they are and why one should listen to them. There’s even some social commentary interspersed within the track, as our masters of ceremonies discuss race relations and living in a society where Black men are often looked down on.

In short, the song’s great, lyrical as hell and it has me hyped for the project proper. Thanks to Bito, I had the chance to check out the upcoming video for the song, which is slated to drop on June 1st. The video helps tie the song together and has a lot of interesting concepts put into it. Keeping up with the video game idea, the video is somewhat shot like something out of a Call of Duty game, even down to some killshots (that’s all I can say without giving too much away).
Bito’s definitely one of my favorite artists out of the Baltimore metro area. This one is just another addition to that, so check it out above. Melanin Quest 7 drops on June 8th, so be on the lookout for it and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
