New Guardz Keep Things Chill—Even at 30 Degrees

UK hip-hop collective New Guardz hit my line with this one recently. From the boombappy beat down to the lyrical party vibes, this late summer jam from the London group grabbed my attention from the moment the track started. Over a chill instrumental, the group members each give their take on what summer means to them, from the parties to the bikinis to the drinks flowing.

It’s like as if The Fresh Prince was English and instead of a 70s funk soul sample, he rapped over something akin to a Curren$y beat. Overall, it’s a solid intro to the group and a solid party song because of its vibe and lyricism. Check out the track’s prerelease via SoundCloud below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
