908ZAY Talks About a Guilty Pleasure on New Song

The first thing that grabbed me about this one was its beat. A smoothed out energy permeated through the beat, as it sounds like something J. Cole would’ve produced. Personally, I believe that this helps the song a lot. This is considering that 908ZAY has a flow that’s also reminiscent of Cole. Add those two things together and you’ve got a bit of a throwback jam.

Lyrically, the song is about the artist trying to make a choice between being with the person he likes and his craft. He knows that the music is, in theory, more important than a fleeting relationship. However, he still finds himself delving back into the relationship, thus the title. We’ve all been here, in one way or another. It’s that relatability that brings you into the song. Once you’re there, it’s a solid chilled-out song which kept my attention throughout the entirety of the track.
