Nasz Dawg‘s latest track, “Life of a Hustler,” is a bit different than what I’ve come to expect from the artist. However, the auto-tuned vocals help give this one further depth. Plus, it shows he can go from lyrically impressive to lyrically impressive and bop-friendly instantaneously to get his point across.
This one’s a lot smoother than “Mirror Match,” but that’s to be expected. It has a bit of an old-school West Coast feel to it mixed with some modern ATL sensibilities. The song itself delves into what being a hustler really means (sometimes having to look over your shoulder, dealing with haters, dealing with people who want you dead, etc.) and how you’ve got to keep pushing even when things get hard. It’s a solid follow-up song to “Mirror Match,” one that should tap into the mainstream just a bit. Check out the track below and remember to support dope music in all of its forms.
