I came into contact with Jay Curti$ after exchanging a few emails that started with him saying he follows SOTB for some of his now-favorite R&B artists. Being a purveyor of dope music in all its forms, I asked him if he himself had anything to share. A quick song.link search shows that he’s been pretty active this year. That said, he’s got one more in the chamber, which I asked him about.
That’s how we got on the topic of his latest track, “Warm.”
Curti$ wanted to capture the feeling of keeping his “person” safe from harm until they’re able to stand on their own two. Regardless of how long it takes, he pledges to stand beside them. I’m here for that. Many of you know that I’m the type of person who’ll give the shirt off my back to someone I care about–as long as they’re working to stand without me. It’s just who I am (sometimes for better or worse).
What really grabbed me about this one is how his vocals are so vibrant over the acoustic production (which Curti$ handled himself). The production is top-notch for a song of this variety. However, the vocals are the selling point for me. They exude a lot of emotion and make the song stand out amongst others with similar topics. Check out the song below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
