Happy 2022. I hope you’re staying safe and warm if you’re in the DMV. I’ve got some new music for your earholes from DC. Over a soulful beat, DC artist Cee Savvy takes a while to get into the track. However, once he does, we’re given about two minutes of lyrics from the heart that don’t really sound like most of what’s out there. He doesn’t really sound like your typical DC or DMV rapper, which made me listen to the track that much more (I mean, I’m an atypical DMV/Baltimore artist, so I tend to gravitate to atypical sounds more).

“The Best” features Savvy in the heart of DC, walking through a Metro station (looks like the Green Line’s U Street station. I’m not overly sure since I haven’t been on the Green Line since my mother’s children used to live down by HU). I love the hues used in the video, specifically the blues in the second half of the video. They give off this air of coolness, while closeups of Savvy literally have you focusing on his words.
