I’m a sucker for a sample-heavy, heart-on-my-sleeve track. If you’re speaking your truths over a soulful beat, I’ll listen up 9/10 times. That’s what Latin Shui produced for BabeeJ and Teeph Rhetoric on the emotional “When I See You.”

The beat sings to you while the hook plays and contains lines like “so many things I should’ve said while you were here.” The verse kind of reminds me of Kanye’s “Spaceship” in its flow and its honesty. As someone who’s lost a lot of people over the years, this one hits me right in the chest. I also love the guitar solo/sample in the middle of the song, because it adds to the emotion displayed on the track (on some “can’t see it coming down my eyes, so I’ve gotta make this song cry” vibes).
