Theo Tams has been on my radar since “I Could Be Hot” a few months ago. His latest Trilogy III song, “FBG,” is not safe-for-work (at all)–which is why it works so well. The song, which title’s short for “F*** Boy Games,” is a bop that calls out toxicity in relationships and “embraces self-worth.” No matter who you are, you’ve probably experienced Effboy (or Effgirl) moments with someone at least once. It sucks, especially when you think they’re above that. However, Tams’ song is one of those that says “hey, it’s okay. You’ll bounce back and be even better than you once were.”
Featuring rapper Karma Rivera, “FBG” is in-your-face, unapologetic and honest. You can’t really get better than that, at least to me. It lets it be known that Tams and, by extension, the listener are not with the BS anymore, that they’re a force to be reckoned with. Check out the track below, give Trilogy III a gander (especially if you liked “I Could Be Hot,” since the EP is only three tracks) and support dope music in all its forms.
