Happy Monday everyone! Hope your weekends were awesome and full of good memories. I spent the weekend chilling with the kids, doing work for my job and, of course, working on keeping dope music on SOTB. I received this one over the weekend and it admittedly took me two listens to say “alright, I’ll talk about it.” Sometimes, it takes another listen to make sure you’re equipped and able to talk about something.

Mitchel Gerald’s “ROTY” feels like it could’ve appeared in an NBA Live game (or even an NBA 2K). It’s bouncy, there’re a lot of basketball references and it’s a bop, plain and simple. Sonically, it’s like a mix between Drake and Big KRIT’s “Pick Up the Pace.” Since I loved “Pace” and list it as one of several reasons why I still play MLB The Show 21, you should know that this one’s a solid track.
