Versifier grabbed my attention with his honesty on the song “Rising Above and Falling Below.” He made me stay because he’s a talented artist who is also a long-time drummer/vocalist. That said, everything comes out in spades on this one, from his songwriting to his desire to motivate people to live positively. It took me a while to decide whether I’d cover this one. That wasn’t because I didn’t like it, but the sound is a bit less straight-up hip-hop than what I typically write about. However, the songwriting and vibes won out and here we are. I’m intrigued to see what this Australian conscious rapper can put together in the coming weeks, months and years.
