A mix between alt-R&B and lo-fi production, Baltimore-based artist TREY RX makes his SOTBMusic debut with “East 2 West.” Sonically, it reminds me of a blend of PND and Bryson Tiller with a dash of Pharrell. There’re a lot of darker harmonies and it has that melancholy chill vibe to it. However, the whole package is one that makes you want to hear more from TREY.

He mentioned that the track, and its upcoming parent EP, WAVLGNTH, were both inspired by N.E.R.D.’s In Search Of project. I hear it in quite a few ways, down to the production. I hope you do, as well, since Baltimore’s been in the news recently for dope music, hard spitters and melodic masterminds.
