Recorded in a very lo-fi sort of way (through voice memos on the iPhone), “The Search” is a very raw track. It’s also reflective of those initial first months of lockdown back in 2020. There’s a feeling of desperation and helplessness. However, there’s also a plea for things to return to some semblance of normal. There’s a search for a light at the end of a tunnel that, at the time, seemed everlasting.
I especially love that everything here was done in a lo-fi, DIY sort of way. It also speaks volumes to humanity’s desire to prosper, as most of Ananth’s non-iPhone materials were left back in the US when she had to return home. Check out the song and its accompanying video below and support dope music in all its forms.
