Recorded in a very lo-fi sort of way (through voice memos on the iPhone), “The Search” is a very raw track. It’s also reflective of those initial first months of lockdown back in 2020. There’s a feeling of desperation and helplessness. However, there’s also a plea for things to return to some semblance of normal. There’s a search for a light at the end of a tunnel that, at the time, seemed everlasting.
I especially love that everything here was done in a lo-fi, DIY sort of way. It also speaks volumes to humanity’s desire to prosper, as most of Ananth’s non-iPhone materials were left back in the US when she had to return home.
