Slovakian indie rocker Vlado Nosal hit my line with “Cold Cigarette,” a song that’d be a bit too on the pop side most of the time for SOTB. However, the lyrics are what grabbed me. Equal parts ode to escapism and reaction to today’s clusterfudgery, “Cigarette” reminds me of an 1980s track with its instrumentation. However, everything also feels fresh and new (and refreshing). I like the sparse instrumentation, as it feels like you’re floating through Heaven on Earth because you’re one of the people who, as the lyrics say, “couldn’t get a room in Hell.” Check out the thought-provoking visuals below as well as the song and support dope music in all its forms.
