GIRLSLOVEROME’s “Risky Love” is a Smooth (Albeit Slightly Toxic) Look at a Young Man in Love

Okay, let’s get it out the way now. ROME says in the hook that if the woman he’s in love with screws him over emotionally or otherwise, he’s going to mess around with her friends just to spite her. The song itself isn’t overly toxic (at least when compared to some of what’s out there). However, that line made me chuckle a bit. While I’ve never been in that situation, I get the “why” behind that potential action. The song itself is sonically smooth and details that ROME isn’t really the type to dote over anyone. It kind of reminds me of a Bryson Tiller song back when he first dropped. However, when ROME does fall, he’s all in–unless, of course, she screws him over.
