I started watching the video for artist Bulgarian Catrader’s Motor Sounds album and I was intrigued. The visualizer features who can only be described as a mother or grandmother prepping food, perhaps for a family member. It’s a simple visual, but one that brought me comfort as I listened through the alt-pop offerings of BCT. It’s actually a disservice to just call his music “alt-pop,” as it does a lot of different sub genres at once. From pop to soul to a bit of dance and even a smattering of R&B, we run the gamut here. The idea of the album essentially, for me, boils down to a project about cars, but more about BCT’s childhood in Bulgaria. It’s an impressive project, one that should stick with you like the image of the visuals have with me since I first saw them. Check out the project below and support dope music in all its forms.
