JAYBAY Speaks on Masculine Vulnerability on “My Bed”

I like this song because it speaks on men being vulnerable with their special someone and not being afraid to let their walls down. That’s a tough thing for most men, especially if they’ve been traumatized by their past and/or past relationships with people. Heck, I’m speaking from experience here–and no, I’m not saying my sons’ mother was a gaslighting, emotionless ass who scared me into submission. With that out the way, the song also leans heavily into nostalgia. With its early-2000s R&B feel and vocals about breaking down walls, “My Bed” plays both as a sexy song about snuggling up with your person and a song about letting your guard down.
