ZayyDusse Presents “Best of Me”

Shout outs are in order for SOTB contributor Solomon Hillfleet, who introduced me to DMV (by way of DC) artist ZayyDusse. Sonically, his sound is kind of a mix between The Weeknd, Bryson Tiller and a bit of DVSN. It’s dark, vibe-heavy R&B and its all about giving his special someone what they need/what he feels they need. Thankfully, there really aren’t any F-Boy Anthems in Dusse’s discography. A common trope among modern R&B singers–and some of your old-school faves, too (let’s be honest here)–Dusse uses his voice for speaking truths and love, not just smashing and dashing. This brings us to his latest track, “Best of Me,” which features Dusse wanting to, well, give the best of himself to the person he’s pursuing. It’s a simple premise, but one that’s elevated by Dusse’s layered, pitched vocals. Vocals bounce around on the song, creating an atmosphere of “damn baby, I would like you to see all I’ve got to offer to you.” Check out “Best of Me” below, check out Zayy’s discography here and support dope music in all its forms.
