I’ll be completely honest. I originally passed on this one. Then it popped up in my SubmitHub feed again, so I gave it another listen. Seems like fate to me.

“Corny Texts” is, well, about a dude who’s trying his damnedest to persuade Mariah to take him back through a series of texts that have no real thought or emotion behind them. The sound is a bit poppier than tracks I usually feature, even veering a bit into pop trap. However, I couldn’t deny the message. As a guy, I try to make sure my “baby I’m sorry” texts and calls have, you know, actual thought behind them so they don’t come off as cheesy or played. If only other dudes could follow my example. This ain’t about me, though. Mariah’s bilingual at times vocals and lyrics make it know, in English and Spanish that she’s not one to be trifled with.
