In a way, Nesmith. kind of reminds me of serpentwithfeet. They’re both DMV-cultivated artists who sing well and use their voices in excellent and exciting ways, almost creating a choir within themselves–by themselves. They are both storytellers who don’t shy away from anything. They’re both also pretty philosophical musical entities who bluntly let it be know that they don’t have all the answers–but that’s okay. This is my first time coming across Nesmith., but I don’t think it’ll be my last.
On “Magic Eight Ball,” Nesmith. tries to answer some of those aforementioned questions. Specifically, he speaks about what he wants and needs out of life and any sort of relationship. All the while, he tackles some of the demons he sees within the shadows while showing that he’s still growing while he’s taking them on. Again, this is a dark and almost mystic track, one that borders on testimony versus just being a song. Check it–and its parent EP–out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
