Charlie from the Couny’s “Bad Boys Too” is like a mix between early-era Wale and Big KRIT. Instrumental-wise, you get a booming, go-go-esque beat mixed with crazy bass. Lyrically, we get some harmonies, a healthy dose of shit-talking that can be backed up, and lyrics that show Charlie’s growth and maturation as a man and an artist. It’s a different sound from “Life is a Journi,” but also similar.

That’s because Charlie’s more confident in his abilities than he’s ever been. In other words, watch out for this man. He’s got the momentum and shows no signs of slowing down. It’s like he’s saying “either roll with me or get ran the eff over.” And I, for one, am here for it. Charlie’s been the homie for the last decade or so, so I’m glad he’s finally getting his just due (just like Nature Boi getting OpenGem popping all over the country).
