Minneapolis rapper Ken-C’s “Vanilla Ice” is a shorter track, but it’s one that brings to mind the smoothness of a Curren$y or Larry June. I absolutely love the old-school production here, with soul samples and boombap drums provided by Rochester, New York producer and artist Kidd Called Quest. The song is quite cool, cold even, with its approach on the beat and with the lyrics. References to colder individuals, cold-referencing artists and more find their way into this track. Check it out below and support dope music in all its forms.
