Last week, I officially dropped “Caviar Dreams” on all other DSPs after successfully launching the track over on Audiomack and Bandcamp (Bandcamp link below, since it’s a pay-your-own-price sort of thing and you could get it for free or you could decide to spend more).
I hope this is an indication for everyone of where I’m heading for the parent project, Caviar Dreams: The Revival of the No-Fi King and all future projects (including the secret EP I’m first dropping on Bandcamp as part of CD‘s rollout over there). The project(s) are less doom and gloom and more about building up our communities and protesting ignorance any way we can. There’s less of a focus on mental health bars, since I’ve given my audience (and passersby) a look into that side of me pretty frequently over the past decade. It’s time for more ways to help my community besides helping them realize they’re not alone in their mental health struggles.
Also, you’ll notice I didn’t produce a damn thing on these projects. I let my raps and harmonies breathe a bit more and let my boy Benji Armstrong handle the production on the upcoming project(s). It was a great move, since Benji has heat–but he also gets where I want to go with the tracks in the beats he’s provided to me thus far. As I said on Twitter, he’s the Jazzy Jeff to my No-Fi Fresh Prince this year and in 2021. If you noticed that some of my Songs For… 2 tracks had more knock to the bass, he’s the reason why.
Caviar Dreams: The Revival of the No-Fi King drops on all DSPs on 12/4/20. The to-be-revealed bonus EP will be available exclusively on Bandcamp as part of CD until early 2021, when it’ll be released on other DSPs until a to-be-revealed title. Stay tuned.
