Over a beat that sounds Flying Lotus-esque, DiZ and Dre Wave$ decided to spit their souls and discuss their past situations. Dre Wave$ makes his SOTBMusic return here and it’s one for the ages, since “Save Me” is lyrical hip-hop at its best. The wild thing is that DiZ is apparently still eighteen, but he raps like he’s my age or older. What caught my ears at first was the commercial in the beginning; it reminded me of a certain Commercial Break series a certain No-Fi King has worked on for years. The beat is a high point here, but the beat’s simple horn flip allows for Diz and Wave$ to just go in smoothly and efficiently.
“Save Me” is definitely one of those new era classics-in-the-making because of its approach and its emotions that are shown throughout. The bars are present, the flow is somber but still seeks your attention and the beat has a nostalgic feel without pandering much to those who are stuck in the ’90s. Check out “Save Me” below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
