DiZ Just Wants Some REST on New Song

While parts of the world go absolutely crazy for the DONDA and CLB albums, we at SOTB.com try to focus on the indie scene. There’s nothing wrong with loving mainstream rap. Hell, I think Lil Baby has been one of the most consistent artists over the last two-to-three years. However, SOTB.com prides itself on focusing on the underdogs and the indie hip-hop scene more than talking about the big players.

With that said, DiZ‘s latest “REST” feels like a mix between Griselda and Heartbreak Drake. You’re probably wondering how this sounds, especially since those two types of music are typically at odds with each other sonically. To put it in a few sentences, it’s an unique blend. Essentially, he’s lyrical as hell over the soul sampled beat while pouring out his heart. There’s a certain type of vulnerability within the two-minute track, akin to early Drake when he was still hungry and trying to sort out his emotions towards women and the game at large. In other words, there’s less jadedness in “REST” than one may expect from a track of this caliber. Check it out below and remember to support dope music in all its forms.
